Having spent decades working both in an Emergency Social Services setting and as a Licensed London Taxi Driver I honestly believed that the legacy of stress, sore back and stiff shoulders was something that I just had to put up with. Then one day a Physiotherapist recommended that my partner take up Pilates. I joined the class as moral support. I left that first class feeling relaxed both mentally and physically and strangely energised. Years later Pilates still makes me feel that way.
In the past I worked in a gym teaching weight training and body building and also studied Shiatsu for three years. However the changes I saw in my body after practicing pilates on a regular basis were so profound that I decided that I wanted to completely change my life and train as a teacher with Body Control Pilates.
Pilates can have wonderful benefits for everyone whatever their physical abilities or goals and I hope to make Pilates accessible yet challenging and fun.
